The flag of Alabama consists of a red saltire on a white background, and was was adopted by Act 383 of the Alabama state legislature on February 16, 1895: It is also known as the St Andrews Cross. The cross of St. Andrew referred to in the law is a diagonal cross, known in vexillology as a saltire. Because the bars must be at least six inches (150 mm) wide, small representations of the Alabama flag do not meet the legal definition.

The Confederate Constitution was formulated in Alabama along with the Saturn rocket that boosted the first men to the moon in 1969.
The boll weevils came to the Black Belt in 1910 and tore into the cotton crop. And, the peanut, with a little help from scientist George Washington Carver’s “300 new uses”, became a very important crop.
Flag Quality:
This flag is made in America of tough, durable and long-lasting nylon fabric, with solid brass grommets. You won’t find nylon flags with higher tensile and tear strength.
It has excellent strength retention under UV exposure, and high resistance to UV fading. These are deeper, brighter colors that last over time, due to the aniline dyeing process, with better wash-fastness and light-fastness than nylons of similar fabric construction.
This flag has a one inch double edge fold around the edges, with four rows of stitching on the fly edge where the flag needs the greatest strength.
In addition, there is 1 1/2 inch reinforced stitching vertically at the fly corners, and 3 1/2 inch reinforced hem stitching (horizontal) at top and bottom of the fly.
