The disability pride flag was created in 2019 by Ann Magill, a disability rights activist from Seattle. The flag features five stripes in the following colors: black, brown, light blue, white, and yellow.
The black stripe represents mourning for the loss of disabled people due to violence, neglect, and medical experimentation. The brown stripe represents the global majority of disabled people who are often marginalized and excluded. The light blue stripe represents the neurodiversity community, which includes people with autism, ADHD, and other learning disabilities. The white stripe represents the visibility and inclusion of all disabled people. The yellow stripe represents the resilience and pride of the disabled community.
The disability pride flag is a symbol of solidarity and pride for disabled people around the world. It is a reminder that disabled people are a diverse and vibrant community, and that we are proud of our identities.
In addition to the five stripes, the disability pride flag also features a symbol that is often referred to as the “disability infinity symbol.” This symbol is a combination of the infinity symbol and the wheelchair symbol. It represents the diversity of the disabled community, as well as the fact that disability is a natural part of human diversity.

Made of durable and long-lasting Rough Tex fabric and solid brass grommets, this flag lasts much longer than our Standard flag. It has excellent strength retention under UV exposure, and high resistance to UV fading. The colors are deep, bright, and last over time due to the aniline dye process. One inch double edge fold around flag, with four rows of stitching on the fly edge. There reinforced stitching at the top and bottom of the fly edge of the flag.
