Founded in 1881 and located in Storrs, Connecticut, the University of Connecticut is the flagship public research university of the state. Football Program History
The UConn Huskies football program competes as an FBS Independent — one of the few programs in the country to operate outside a major conference. The Huskies made their mark in the early 2010s under head coach Randy Edsall, including a 2011 Fiesta Bowl appearance — one of the most memorable moments in program history. UConn has produced NFL players including Donald Brown and Jasper Howard, and continues to build its program with a schedule that takes on opponents from across the country.
