The Delaware Flag is a flag with a blue background and a diamond. The diamond shows the state’s nickname The Diamond State. The coat of arms has a ship representing commerce, and animals and crops representing its main industry, agriculture. The words say Liberty and Independence. In the blue there are the words December 7th, 1787. This is the year it join the Union , making it the first state of the Union.
